Listen to Avinet Clients (impersonating users AM-I-323)

My understanding of the rationale behind the ideas portal is for clients to voice frustrations and collectively support improvement ideas allowing Avinet to constantly improve features and remain an international market leader. However despite having received over 60 supporting votes the ability for administrators to impersonate users continues to be dismissed by Avinet citing security concerns.

The lack of this function creates ongoing frustration for administrators trying to assist other users when diagnosing issues, and generates significant problems when some-one leaves a company with outstanding actions, reviews, findings or other AM functions linked to their individual sign-in credentials. This is further complicated as there is no easy way to generate a single report to capture all Air Maestro items allocated to a specific user for reference. The resulting lack of timely closure of anything relating to departed users delays progress and if unaddressed has the potential to reflect poorly on the effectiveness of a company's SMS.

Yes there are work-arounds, and over time administrators will probably capture these errant entries, however it shouldn't be that hard or time-consuming.

I'm confident that any security concerns around adding the ability for administrators to impersonate users (as detailed in idea AM-I-323) can be overcome with the correct approach, particularly if there is a desire to continually improve the system and remain a market leader.
